As a new crop of digital cameras and camcorders hit the market that can record in 3D, it’s going to be a challenge for people to enjoy those personal memories in 3D without dropping a boatload of cash on a new 3D HDTV. Fortunately, many companies are bundling in 3D viewing devices along with their cameras and camcorders, so you can enjoy a 3D experience “out of the box.”

DXG is one such company, they’re expected to release a 3D point-and-shoot digital camera this summer that comes with a separate 3D viewer the neatly houses the printed images allowing you to see the 3D effect.

The camera is called the DXG-018 and the pictures it snaps can be printed using supplied software on standard 4 x 6 photo paper with multiple images appearing side-by-side on the print out. Each image is printed with a guide that shows you where to cut the image so it fits properly in the viewer.

The 3D glasses are built right into the viewer so once you slip the printed image into the viewer you simply hold it up to your face to see the 3D effect.

DXG has not set a price yet for this combo product but you can expect an MSRP of significantly under $100.
