The USB flash drive market gets more interesting by the month and the latest product we eyed at the International CES Show from Victorinox continued this trend.
The company unveiled their latest in terms of USB flash drive storage – and did so in a massive way – a 1TB drive with build-in LCD display. And for those who may be worrying about traveling/flying with a pocket knife, worry not. You see, in addition to the massive amount of storage, these drives will also ship with two bodies — one with and one without a knife blade. More specifically, they will come with a red body that has the knife (and nail file and scissors) and a black body that will house only the drive itself.
The drive itself will hold up to 1TB of data and comes with read/write speeds of 220MB/s and 150MB/s respectively. Additionally, the drives touts 256 AES hard/software encryption, have automatic back-up functionality, a password manager and more. As for the aforementioned display, it is a bi-stable LCD with a 96 x 48 pixel monochrome resolution. Another point on the display, it will remain on and visible even when unplugged.
Not sure about an MSRP on this one just yet but we suspect it’s not going to come cheap.
