GivIt, available on the web and now also on the iPhone, is designed so you can control the number of viewers who can watch the videos you upload.
Unlike most of the other social video sharing apps, Givit isn’t designed for mass distribution of videos into…

Corel MotionStudio 3D Software

Get out your director’s chair and start making far more memorable video clips. That is certainly what Corel is suggesting with their new MotionStudio 3D, software program.
The $99 software can help you create dozens of unique title sequences by making text bounce, twist and explode and also allows you to create and embellish 3D objects by adding realistic motion blur and lighting, as well as particle effects such as fire, smoke and snow.
The program’s Easy Pallet quickly applies 3D pre-sets to text or objects and can export 3D…

September 27, 2011 | 6:38 am
It’s easy to capture hours of video, but it can be a bit difficult and time-consuming to edit your footage down into coherent clips. A new service called Magisto aims to change that. It will automatically edit up to 600MB or 16 individual clips totally 600MB into a single video. Best of all – it’s free.
Magisto does this editing by computer algorithm, scanning your clips to detect important pieces (i.e. those with people or pets, etc.) and slicing out the rest. It also promises to remove digital noise as…
Stroome: Social Video Editing
September 14, 2011 | 4:45 pm
Most of us do our video editing in a lonely corner of the house, working with footage while everyone is enjoying their life. A new startup called Stroome looks to change that with a web browser-based “social” editing program.
Here’s how it works: you upload a piece of video content to a Stroome library. Those clips can be seen and edited by other Stroome members – either for you to use of them. So if everyone went to the same event but only one of you is any good…

Software Creates Animated Bio With Photos
August 3, 2011 | 4:48 pm
The creators of the Face Movie software in Google’s Picasa is giving us a look under the hood of a far more robust software program that can create chronological bios using our photos. Daily Tech’s Tiffany Kaiser gives us the scoop:
The new tool works by scanning through a person’s photo collection (if you fall into the “boxes of 4×6 prints” category, you’ll have to scan them all onto the computer first). Facial recognition technology allows the owner to tag the photos and manually enter dates if possible, and…
