Western Digital Offers 2TB Portable Drive

Western Digital is out with a new Mac-compatible portable hard drive that pushes the capacity limits: the My Passport Studio drive packs a whopping 2 terabytes worth of digital storage.

How much is 2TB? According to Western Digital, enough to store about 400,000 photos, 240 hours of video or 500,000 songs. In other words, probably more than enough for your average consumer. What to Do With Your Child’s School Crafts

As a parent with two young children, I’m innundated on an almost daily basis with their school projects. Now, I’m not the overly sentimental type so I’m usually inclined to quietly deposit these creative masterpieces in the trash after an appropriate (brief) period of public display on the fridge. Sony recently launched its new PlayMemories series of post-shooting solutions to enable you to view, edit and share your videos and photos on a variety of electronic devices, including LCD TVs, personal computers, tablets and smartphones.

Kodak to Drop Picture Frames – Keep Printers

As part of its on-going financial shake-up, Kodak announced today that it would no longer make its line of digital frames (or cameras and video cameras).

However, Kodak will continue to support its line of inkjet printers and photo printing solutions. They also noted that Kodak Gallery would remain up and running, although if you’ve stored your images on Gallery it would be wise to inventory them and make sure you have a copy securely stored on a hard drive.
